Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Ultimate Sith Edition Review

It took LucasArts longer than it expected to put the finishing touches on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, but when it was finally released last year it went on to put up huge numbers for the company - record setting numbers in fact, and considering the success of previous Star Wars titles, that's no small feat. Given that it might be a while before we see a direct sequel, assuming one is even in development (and you have to assume that it is), we're now seeing the release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Ultimate Sith Edition.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition (Wii) Review

Wii owners who have been waiting since 2007 to experience the excellence of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, your time has come. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition is a successful port that includes the intense, breathtaking campaign and engaging, addictive multiplayer that made Call of Duty 4 such a hit. While the visuals lack a certain sharpness, the environments still convey the drama and diversity that help make the campaign so excellent. And though there are some minor aiming hitches, the controls are precise and customizable enough to let you be all you can be. The multiplayer system that first arrived on the Wii last year in Call of Duty: World at War is even more robust in Modern Warfare, making it the best online shooter experience the Wii has to offer. If you've already played COD4 on another system, there's no reason to pick it up again. But if you have yet to experience Call of Duty's first foray into the 21st century, Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition will entertain you immensely.

Dragon Age: Origins Review

It is said it was the hubris of man that brought the Darkspawn into the world: a rampaging evil, swelling up from underground, that attacks without mercy or purpose. It has been over four hundred years since the last Blight, but even those who remember believe there will never be another. One man disagrees. Duncan, head of the Grey Wardens in the nation of Ferelden, sees all the signs of a coming Blight. He is seeking new members to join this most elite band of fighters, for it is only the Grey Wardens who can defeat the Archdemon at the centre of the onslaught.

Left 4 Dead 2 Review

When I held a six-pack of soda as an impromptu melee weapon, I knew Left 4 Dead 2 would treat me well. Clutching Cokes, my teammates and I were fleeing the Save 4 Less mini-mart we'd busted into moments before, and the damn alarm was acting as the dinner bell for dozens of lurching unpeople. This wasn't our idea of a good time, but we owed a parched gunshop owner a favour: he'd let us walk away with whatever shotguns, laser-sighted assault rifles and high-calibre pistols our 'Use' keys would let us carry. So I trotted on, gunless, wondering if too many melee attacks would over-carbonate the bottles, yelling at my teammates to cover my ass on the most insane, ill-advised escort mission ever.

Review: Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360)

When Valve announced Left 4 Dead 2 during Microsoft's E3 2009 press conference -- less than seven months after the release of the award-winning original -- gamers were, perhaps rightfully, shocked. This was the same Valve that spent nearly ten years iterating on Team Fortress 2 and whose experiment in episodic gaming has forced us to reevaluate our expectations for future installments of Half-Life 2 using the "Star Wars–definition" of episodic.

Review: Left 4 Dead 2

New friends, more zombies, better apocalypse. That's what Valve has promised, and that's what fans will come to expect when they finally pick up the sequel to one of the best zombie games ever made. Left 4 Dead 2 was developed to capitalized on the mass success of the original game, adding new characters, campaigns, Special Infected and weapons.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Review

I never finished the original Operation Flashpoint. I got to a mission where I had to escort some convoy of trucks over a large distance, and singularly failed to do so. Believe me, I tried to protect my AI companions, but they just kept getting blown up. I can't even remember how they bought it - mines, rockets or merely plain old bullets - but they died, again and again. Again and again and again.

Wait, didn't everybody already buy this?

Even if your willpower or geography has kept you from picking up Modern Warfare 2, you're probably reading this as you drive to go do just that. Activision's marketing people like to call this one the most anticipated game of the decade, and there's no doubt it will sell oodles of copies from now until Modern Warfare 3: Even Moderner. But is it worth the hype? I spent some serious time pounding plastic to see if Infinity Ward's latest has the fun to back it up and you can find out what I thought right after the break.

WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 Review: A Game For Smart People

You can read here a wrestling game review, written by a lapsed wrestling fan (me!). But first, I challenge Flower fans and Ico lovers to find a better gaming subject for their college thesis than Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 Review

There's no question that competition is a healthy thing for the videogame industry. Just look at soccer games, for instance. For a long while Pro Evolution Soccer (formerly Winning Eleven in the states) was a far superior product to the EA Sports alternative. Over the last few years the tide has begun to turn and it's never been more evident than in the 2010 iterations that EA Sports has surpassed its closest competitor. While Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 is by no means a bad soccer game, it pales in comparison to what FIFA 10 sent out to the pitch in just about every category.
